Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how ByteCraft Apps ("ByteCraft", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information across our mobile apps. It applies to all ByteCraft apps, but not every app uses every feature described here. For app-specific data details, please also review that app's Apple App Store or Google Play listing.

Who We Are

ByteCraft Apps is the data controller for personal data processed through our apps. You can contact us at hello@bytecraft.app.

Information We Collect

  • Information you provide: display names, messages, challenge-sharing text, support requests, and any other content you choose to send us.
  • Device and usage information: device model, operating system version, app version, language, region, general interaction events, IP-derived approximate location, diagnostics, and crash data.
  • Identifiers: device identifiers, advertising identifiers such as IDFA on iOS or Advertising ID on Android, and push-notification tokens when notifications are enabled.
  • Purchase information: product identifiers, transaction identifiers, purchase tokens, purchase status, and restore information. We do not receive or store your payment-card details.

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information.

How We Use Information

  • To provide, operate, maintain, and improve our apps.
  • To show advertising in apps that include ads.
  • To measure ad performance and prevent ad fraud.
  • To understand app usage, diagnose errors, and fix crashes.
  • To send notifications you have enabled.
  • To process in-app purchases and restore previous purchases.
  • To protect our apps, users, and business from fraud, abuse, security incidents, and legal risk.

Advertising

Some of our apps display ads through Google AdMob. AdMob and its ad partners may process device identifiers, advertising identifiers, usage data, approximate location, and ad interaction data to serve, personalize, measure, and limit ads.

Where we have a valid basis, such as your consent, ads may be personalized. Otherwise, ads are non-personalized or limited as required by law and platform settings.

In the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, apps that show ads use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) where required to ask for your consent before personalized ads are shown. Where consent is required, the app provides a privacy options control that lets you update or withdraw your choices.

On iOS, where an app uses the advertising identifier for tracking, we request permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, we do not use the advertising identifier to track you, and ads are non-personalized or limited.

Analytics and Crash Reporting

Some of our apps use Google Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate usage and Firebase Crashlytics to detect and fix crashes. These services may process usage events, device information, diagnostics, crash logs, and approximate location. Where consent is required, analytics collection is enabled only after you consent.

Push Notifications

Some of our apps use Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications you enable, such as reminders. To do this, we may store a device push token. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

In-App Purchases

Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not collect or store payment-card details. We keep purchase records needed to unlock paid features, restore previous purchases, prevent fraud, and respond to support requests.

Third-Party Services

We share information with service providers only as needed to operate, improve, secure, and monetize our apps:

These providers may process device information, identifiers, usage data, diagnostics, purchase information, push tokens, and advertising-related data for the purposes listed above. We require service providers to protect personal data consistently with this Policy and to process it only for appropriate service, legal, and security purposes.

We do not sell personal information for money. Some advertising activity may be considered "sale", "sharing", or targeted advertising under certain privacy laws, and where required we provide opt-out controls.

Legal Bases for EEA and UK Users

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:

  • Consent: for personalized advertising and, where required, analytics.
  • Legitimate interests: to operate, secure, improve, and support our apps, and to show non-personalized ads.
  • Contract: to provide features you request, including in-app purchases and purchase restoration.
  • Legal obligation: to comply with applicable law.

You may withdraw consent at any time through the app's privacy options where available, your device settings, or by contacting us.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent.

You can also control many privacy choices directly on your device, including ad tracking, app permissions, and notifications.

To make a privacy request, contact us at hello@bytecraft.app. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California and U.S. State Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident or live in another U.S. state with similar privacy laws, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, correct inaccurate information, receive a copy of your information, and opt out of "sale", "sharing", or targeted advertising.

We do not sell personal information for money. Some advertising activity may be considered "sharing" or targeted advertising. You can opt out using the in-app privacy options where available, your device privacy settings, or by contacting hello@bytecraft.app.

Children

Our apps are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

If a specific app is listed as child-directed or is offered under a family program, that app will provide any additional child-privacy disclosures required by law or platform rules.

Data Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law. For example:

  • Support messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and maintain reasonable support records.
  • Push tokens are kept while notifications are enabled or until the token expires or is no longer valid.
  • Purchase records are kept as long as needed to unlock features, restore purchases, prevent fraud, and meet legal requirements.
  • Analytics, crash, and advertising data are retained according to our settings and our service providers' standard retention controls.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymize it.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including by our service providers. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
